It has been helpful to speak to a good
number of people about the proposals for
a possible re-ordering of the church and
to hear so many favourable and
supportive comments. I am pleased that
90% of the parish see the reordering as
positive and are in favour. The comments
made are mostly favourable, with some
suggestions and requests for more
information on specific areas. These are
being considered and I want to continue
to listen to your views and suggestions.
In the autumn I propose to have a further
meeting in the Parish Hall (date to be
announced) where the architect and the
teams involved will respond to your
questions and comments.
Please continue to let us have your
comments and suggestions. The Parish
Finance Committee will also respond in
the autumn to questions about the
parish's current financial situation, with
an information sheet that will be
distributed.
Of course, we are trying to listen to
everyone's views, including those who
are firmly against the proposals.
Strongly-held and forthright views are, of
course, important - but just as important
as the voice of the many who quietly
assent. We are on a journey as a parish
and I hope that together we can build a
more beautiful and prayerful church to
symbolise our growth and renewal as
Christ's Church.
Thank you all for your engagement with
the proposals to date and for your
willingness to share your views.
God is good!
Father Terry
