Fr. Aaron Writes 9th April 2023
Fr Aaron writes…
Dear Friends,
Alleluia! Alleluia! May I wish all parishioners a Happy and Blessed Easter! The Lord has risen, He has risen indeed!
This is indeed good news, not to be kept to ourselves, but a gift to be shared. We share the joy of Mary Magdalene as she carries the news to the disciples that she has seen the Lord alive. We are called to run with enthusiasm to share this transforming news.
I hope many of you will be able to share in the joy of the Resurrection with your family and friends. Light triumphs over darkness – life over death. We need to expose this truth to our world; we are convinced and convicted by the empty tomb and we invite others to come and see.
Our closeness remains with the sick and the housebound and for the dying and the recent dead; we remain close to you in our prayers and thanksgiving.
Lent is over; 40 days and 40 nights give way to the days of Paschal joy, of which there are 50 in number. We must truly celebrate with enthusiasm and treat ourselves!
Holy Week is the busiest week of the year; so much preparation goes into the various events and services. So, I would like to thank all those who helped prepare these days of celebration. To those in the Parish Office, to our sacristans, musicians, cleaners, flower arrangers, welcomers, confirmation candidates and their catechists, to our altar servers and to everyone who has, by their presence and participation, made our celebrations so special – a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Thank you for your generosity in the Easter collection, too; your kindness is greatly appreciated.
Finally, we congratulate Jemma Claydon and Richard Hurst, who were received into the Catholic Church at the Easter Vigil. You are most welcome into the family of the Church!
With every prayer and good wish for Easter Day and the Octave.
