Congratulations to our young people...

This week may I begin by congratulating our young people who were confirmed by Bishop Richard
last Friday night. They are a fine group of thoughtful, mature and conscientious young people who
have demonstrated a joyful lived Catholic Faith - I am very proud of them. Huge thanks go to Eva
Walker who has accompanied them on their journey of Faith at this stage.

First Communion Classes resume this weekend and there is an obligatory parents’ meeting in the
Church at 7pm on Monday 23rd April. I shall give a short talk on the Holy Eucharist.

May I also warmly encourage you to help support one of our Parishioners, Kathy Bishop the following
weekend as her magazine the Faith Companion is launched in Our Parish on April 29th. Details of the
event are in the newsletter. Bishop Richard will be attending, it would be lovely to have a hall full of
parishioners to welcome the launch and the invited guests.

Finally our continued prayers for the repose of the soul of Lyn Murray. Our thoughts and prayers
continue for Deacon Tom. It was moving to see a full church for Lyn’s Requiem, this would have been
a great source of consolation for Tom and the family. May she rest in God’s peace.
