Welcoming and Hospitality
Calling for more volunteers!
It was great to see good crowds of Parishioners at the Feast of the Ascension last Thursday, we now prepare for the great Feast of Pentecost praying for the coming of the Holy Spirit to into our daily lives. We need wisdom and discernment in our often busy and crowded lives – do we take time to pray to the Holy Spirit asking for help in our interior lives?
This weekend we are asking for volunteers to be part of a wider welcoming and hospitality team for our Parish. This involves more than just handing out hymn books, I envisage that through this ministry people will feel welcome at our services but also we will look to a wider parish wide program of social events and occasions where the whole parish community get involved to make sure no one feels excluded.
Please be generous in your response, perhaps the Holy Spirit is calling you, because of your time and skill to this most important ministry in our Parish!
I would warmly encourage all children but especially those preparing for First Holy Communion to come to the front of Church where there will be pews reserved in order that they can see and participate in the Mass. If parents could bring them forward before Mass. I would like this to be done every Sunday.
The Parish Mission group meets from 7pm in the Presbytery on Monday, thank you to those who have submitted some items for discussion. If you would like something brought up for discussion, please speak to me after Mass or email me.
I will be away overnight from Tuesday to Wednesday on the Diocesan clergy in-service. All priests are expected to attend, we will reflect on the mission and future of the Diocese. Please keep us all in your prayers. Fr Eddie will offer Mass on Wednesday morning.
Please pray for all those preparing to receive the sacraments in the next few weeks: those preparing for First Communion and Marriage most especially.
With every prayer and good wish.
