Fr. Aaron Writes : 14th November 2021
Dear Friends,
First Holy Communions – Congratulations to the children who made their First Holy Communions this weekend. Please keep them in your prayers.
Fr David Irwin RIP – I am still yet to hear of Fr David’s funeral arrangements. All I know is that the Requiem Mass will take place at St James’ Spanish Place, Marylebone. When the details are available, I shall share them with the parish.
Foundation Governors – ‘Taste and See’ evening here in the Parish Hall at 7pm on Monday 15th November. If you feel that you might be offer to help as a Foundation Governor do come to this meeting, where you be able to find out what the role entails. Gill Sajnog from the Diocese will be with us for the meeting.
Synod Path – The material to be used in parishes and schools from the diocese on the Synodal Path will be made available this week, I believe, once received we will hold listening sessions and discussions in the parish and in our schools during Advent and early in the New Year.
Holy Communion – when you approach for Holy Communion, if you are a couple or family, please come forward together to receive the Lord. This will expedite the time for Holy Communion. The gaps between the Sunday Masses are short, and so this will help increase the time between liturgies. Many thanks.
Children’s Liturgy – A number of volunteers have approached me indicating their desire to help restart the Children’s Liturgy at the 10am Mass. If you have contacted me, or if you feel you can help and want to know more, there will be a meeting in the hall after the 10am Mass this Sunday the 14th of November.
Blessing of Graves at Hills Cemetery – This will take place this Sunday at 3pm. The clergy will gather at Fr Williams grave, and then we will go to those graves of our loved ones and friends to pray and bless the grave, please stand by the graves that you wish us to bless and we will make our ways around the cemetery.
Restart – Again I make an appeal for those who would like to help with certain parish activities and ministries. Perhaps, you might consider using your time, talent or treasure to assist in one of the following areas of parish life, I will focus on the following to begin with:
• Children’s Liturgy.
• Refreshments after Sunday Mass.
• Adult and Children Formation Programs.
Appointment of an additional Parish Health and Safety Representative
I wish to appoint an additional Parish Safety Representative to eventually to take over the role from the current parish volunteer. The role is to assist me in the discharge of my health and safety responsibilities. Please contact me if you wish to consider this role. People who typically fulfil this role are often able to bring professional qualifications, knowledge, skills and experience which supports them in this role.
