Fr. Aaron Writes 12th June 2022
Dear Friends,
Trinity Sunday – A blessed feast of the MostHoly Trinity to you! Today, we reflect on the mystery of the Triune Godhead,
who has revealed himself to be three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We bear the image of God in and through our
baptism, and we live the relationship of love that is the Trinity in our Christian lives.
Annual Mission Appeal – this weekend Sr Mary Sebastian Ogwuike IHM will speak to us about the missionary activity of
her order, the Missionary Sisters of England and Wales. May we give her a warm welcome and a generous response.
Deanery Meeting – Mass on Tuesday will be at 9:30am as Deacon Tom and I are attending a deanery meeting in East
Grinstead.
Corpus Christi at Arundel Cathedral – The beautiful carpet of flowers will resume this year after a hiatus due to the
pandemic. There will be Holy Mass on Thursday 16th June at 5:30pm, celebrated by Bishop Richard, after which there will
be a procession through the town to the castle, ending with Benediction in the Cathedral. It is quite a celebration of Faith!
All are welcome to join in.
Corpus Christi at Horsham – It is my intention to celebrate a Eucharistic procession after the 10am Mass and, if possible,
after the 11:30am Mass next Sunday, ending with Benediction outside the presbytery. If you have any petals that can be
used by the children to place before the Blessed Sacrament, then please bring those to Mass.
Sunday Morning Mass Schedule – on Sunday 3rd July we will revert back to a 9:15am and an 11:15am Mass, thus ending
the pandemic timetable of three Masses on a Sunday morning. I thank you for your understanding.
Pentecost Sunday & Jubilee Weekend Party for Parishioners New and Old – I would like to thank personally all those
who helped organise our very successful shared meals last week. It was greatto see so many people come together again
to celebrate Pentecost and the Jubilee of Her Majesty the Queen.
Full PPC (Parish Pastoral Council) Meeting – Our next meeting of the full PPC will take place on Monday 13th June at
7pm in the Hall. At this meeting, we will be taking photographs of all members, so that we can create a special notice
board for PPC matters at the back of church and allow people to know who is on the team. Minutes of all the meetings
involving the PPC are available on the website.
New Catholics – On Tuesday 14th, 21st and 28th June, there will be a mini-course held, organised for all those who have
expressed a desire to become a Catholic and for those who wish to be baptised and confirmed. We will look at the three
questions: Why God? Why Christ? Why the Church? We will meetin Rooms 2/3 ofthe Parish Hall at 7pm. Wine and nibbles
will be available. To anyone who would like to join the group as a refresher, you’d be most welcome.
Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament – this Friday evening (17th) will be a special time of prayer for refugees, in
anticipation of World Refugee Day next week.
The Parish Fayre - In response to the Stewardship drive during Lent, when we called for more volunteers in parish
ministries, there will be a Parish Fayre of Volunteers on the weekend of 16/17th of July. There will be manned stalls with
information on how to join the various ministries and volunteer roles in our parish.
