Dear Friends,
It is so wonderful to see so many of you returning back to the celebration of the sacraments. It has been a long time since many of us have seen each other; it is simply heartwarming to speak and share how our lives have been the past few months. There is a great sense of hope and optimism in the air.
This is the season of ordinations and weddings and so we pray for those in our seminaries preparing for ordination to the diaconate and the priesthood. We pray for Nick Harden who prepares for diaconate and for Rev. Stephen O’Brien, who prepares for the priesthood.
We also pray for Gary Carter, who spends his final week with us as he prepares to leave on Saturday 19th. Thank you to those who have invited him out. It is all part of the ‘parish’ experience to meet with as many people as he can. We pray for him and for all our diocesan students as they continue to discern the Lord’s call.
Liturgy Changes – as from May 17th, the advice from the Bishops Conference and in consultation with Public Health England and the HM Government Task Force, is that we can now respond ‘Amen’ when the priest offers the Body of Christ. So from now on we can respond individually ‘Amen’ when we receive the Blessed Sacrament. Holy Communion is permitted both in hand or on the tongue.
Weekday Mass – on Monday and Tuesday Mass will be at 10am this week.
First Confession and First Holy Communion – Applications are now closed. Our classes began on June 12th. Please pray for our children who begin preparation for these wonderful sacraments.
In Memoriam:
Pamela Jones RIP – We pray for Pamela’s family who mourn at this time. Her funeral will take place at 3pm at the Surrey and Sussex Crematorium on Wednesday 16th of June.
Krystyna Maria Deszberg RIP – We pray for Krystyna’s husband John, her twin sister Maria, and the rest of her family and friend’s who mourn at this time.
May they rest in peace and rise in glory.
