Fr. Aaron Writes : 13th March 2022
Dear Friends,
Thank you for your generosity in last week’s emergency collection. We continue to pray for the people of Ukraine and
for the Russians who do not want this war.
We can continue to support our brothers and sisters by donating to CAFOD which will help the sister charity CARITAS
UKRAINE and the UK Disasters Emergency Committee to help hundreds of thousands of people fleeing conflict in
the country. You can donate to CAFOD’s Ukraine Humanitarian Appeal here: https://cafod.org.uk/donations .
To find out more please visit CAFOD’s website.
You can also help via Aid to the Church in Need: www.acnuk.org and give to the Ukraine Emergency Appeal. Their
website gives details of how your generosity helps the local church in Ukraine.
TIME – TALENT – TREASURE
Planned Giving Drive - Weekend One - Our Call to Stewardship and Parish Renewal.
‘Each one of you has received a special grace, so, like good stewards responsible for all these varied graces of God, put it
at the service of others’- 1 Peter 4:10
This weekend we launch our Stewardship journey renewal. As a parish we will be encapsulating an
attitude for gratitude; reflecting on our own spiritual journeys and our blessings. Over the coming weeks during Lent
we ask all parishioners to prayerfully reflect on their commitment to our parish. As a parish and as individuals, we
have been blessed with many, varied gifts. Biblical Stewardship calls us to share our gifts of time, talent
and treasure with our parish community and our world. These gifts come from God, so let us strive to return a
sacrificial, not token, portion to Him.
Today, please take an appeal newsletter. We shall be hearing more about stewardship and the needs of our parish
over the coming weeks. Please give prayerful consideration to this appeal.
If you have any questions, there are volunteers from our Parish Finance Committee available after Mass today.
Many thanks.
Lenten Devotions - Stations of the Cross take place on Fridays in the morning before Mass, and in the evening. Please
check the Mass Times. Confessions will be restored to 5:15pm before the Saturday evening Vigil Mass. All confessions
from now on will be heard in the confessional.
First Holy Communion Parents – There will be a compulsory Parent’s meeting on Monday 14th March at 7pm. This
will take place in church.
Feast of St. Patrick - There will be an extra Mass this week on Thursday to celebrate the Feast of St Patrick at 12
noon.
Children’s Liturgy – I am delighted to announce this will restart on Sunday March 20th at the 10am Mass. Please see
the notice elsewhere in the newsletter from Mariela, who will also be speaking to us at the 10am Mass this Sunday.
COVID regulations – with the end of COVID legal requirements, it is a personal choice whether to wear a face
covering in Church. Please respect the decision of those who continue to wear masks and those who do not.
With my very best wishes and prayers for you all,
Fr Aaron
