Fr. Aaron Writes 29th January 2023
Fr Aaron writes…
This weekend we welcome Julie Doherty from Mary’s Meals, who will be speaking to us and making an appeal at all Sunday Masses.
First Holy Communion Class – Session Three takes places on Saturday afternoon (28th) between 12:30pm and 1:30pm.
RCIA – We will be launching our new RCIA – Journey in Faith programme very soon. Please look out for further details in subsequent newsletters!
World Youth Day 2023 Lisbon – As we reach the end of January, this wonderful event fast approaches! If you would like to come and have not indicated this to me yet - do tell me! We will continue our fundraising for the participants through various events.
Parish Pilgrimage to Rome, Assisi and Palazzola
– Please see some details of a pilgrimage to Italy later this year in the newsletter. It is lovely that we can now be confident of re-commencing our parish pilgrimage programme.
In Memoriam – Please keep in your prayers those who have recently died and, especially, their families, who are living with sadness and loss in the hearts.
We pray for the repose of the souls of:
Yvonne Frisby, Jim McNeil, Phill Moonan and
Giuseppa Elia. Please also pray for my mother, Angela, on her third anniversary on Monday 30th January. My family are gathering in Eastbourne on Sunday afternoon to bless her resting place and lay her plaque.
The Requiem Mass for Yvonne will be at 11am on Monday 13th February, Phill’s Requiem Mass will be on Wednesday 15th February at 10am and Giuseppa’s Requiem Mass will be at 10am on Friday 17th February – all Masses are here at St John’s.
May they rest in peace and rise in glory.
With every prayer and good wish,
Fr Aaron
